- Check the "Enable Recurrence" box and "Repeat every" 1 and weeks.
- Click Next>
- Click Finish
- The Transfer is ready to begin at your scheduled time.
- After the transfer has completed, run the touchscreen to test it.
- Check the Queue window in Cute FTP to see how much data has transferred.
- You may leave CuteFTP open or close it. It doesn't matter. It keeps a widget in the systray that will accomplish the job on time. If the computer needs a restart for any reason, you must run CuteFTP once to restart the transfer widget and timer.
- The first transfer will usually take a long time because most of the online files don't keep the time of their transfer. However the second time, only the files that have changed on the server will be downloaded.
- That's it!
Further Recommendations
- Place a shortcut of the CuteFTP program in the Startup folder so that when Microsoft restarts your computer or the power goes out, the autoupdate feature will restart when the computer does.
- If you need to change the time the transfer takes place, open the CuteFTP program and double click on the agfm item in the Queue window. Change the time to a more appropriate one.
- Please schedule the download for late night or early morning when the web, your church and the server are not busy.
Ordinary Behavior
- After proper setup of the auto-update procedure, the file transfer will begin at the scheduled time and repeat every week at the same time.
- The very first time the process takes place, the transfer should take quite a while because the dates on the files on your local computer will be older than the dates on the files on the server.
- Every time after, the transfer will take a much shorter time.
- Every Wednesday the new prayer requests, news and missionary files are uploaded to the server. So at the time of your next scheduled connection to the server, those files alone will be downloaded to your local computer.
- Once a month the new files for the monthly touchscreen release are uploaded to the server.
- This includes at least four movies, news, prayer requests, updated missionary database, new and changed profiles and pictures, program changes, etc.
- The old files on your computer are automatically overwritten.
- None of the files on on your local computer that are not on the server, like localsupport.mdb are deleted.
- If any of the parameters of the setup are changed for any reason, the update may not work correctly.
