World Missions Touchscreen

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Whom do I call for information?
    • An information kit is available with a brochure and video. It can be sent to you by calling (417) 862-1447 Ext.1781 or clicking on the Order button to the left. If you would like to view the brochure online it can be done by clicking here or downloaded in Adobe Reader (PDF) format by clicking here.
  • How does the touchscreen work?
    • This software will take an individual on a multimedia missions trip around the world. You are able to see photos of missionaries who are working in each country and read about the missionaries and the country they are serving. Included in the software are videos from each of the Regional Directors. Also, Newsbreak, Go360, Worldbeat and Speed The Light videos are archived in the system. At the heart of this program, however, are the constant updates of world news articles and prayer requests. A simple touch allows people to read urgent needs and uplifting reports from around the globe. Each program ordered is tailored specifically to display a page showing the list of missionaries the local church supports.
  • What missionaries are included in the program?
    • All fully appointed Assemblies of God world missionaries that are not currently serving in a sensitive country are included. This list is updated each month by CD or DVD.
  • How much does the touchscreen cost?
    • The software is licensed without charge to churches in the Assemblies of God fellowship. There is a $65 per year subscription fee to cover the costs of distributing the monthly and weekly updates. The local church is responsible to purchase the computer, touchscreen monitor and, if desired, the optional kiosk enclosure. The estimated cost for a basic computer and touch monitor is less than $999.
  • How does the yearly subscription work and what does it entail?
    • The yearly subscription consists of monthly updates of your touchscreen system mailed to you as well as access to the content download section of this website. The updates included new additions to the program itself as well as changes to the list of missionaries your church pledges support to. The subscription fee is only $65/year since the Assemblies of God World Missions has underwritten the entire software development. Included in these updates are several different videos (Go360, Worldbeat, Newsbreak, and others), audio reports from the various area directors as well as world news and prayer requests. In the future as the archive of videos begins to grow the use of DVD's may be required and the subscription rate may change to accommodate this need.
  • Does the kiosk have to be connected to the internet?
    • No, this is not a requirement. However, if you choose to download some of the updates from the website an internet connection to the kiosk would be beneficial instead of transporting the information from one computer to the other. In addition, if you want to use the AutoUpdate feature, you will need a persistent high-speed internet connection.
  • Are home missionaries included in this project?
    • You may key in your home missionaries if you add the Community Missions Option module.
  • Can I make changes to the software in order to include other projects our church is involved in?
    • Because A/G World Missions is responsible for keeping the information in the Touchscreen software up-to-date, it is not possible for the local church to also make changes. Therefore the license agreement prohibits changes to the software or information in it. However the Community Missions Option can be used to present information about the local church.
  • What is the Community Missions Option?
    • The Community Missions Option (CMO) uses third-party software developed by Rocky Mountain Media that complements the Touchscreen software developed by A/G World Missions. The Community Missions Option provides a blank template where each local church can enter information about its own programs, events, staff and projects.
  • Why would I want the CMO?
    • Using both the World Missions Touchscreen software and the Community Option provides a view of both world missions and your local church.
    • The information in the World Missions Touchscreen is carefully updated weekly and monthly by A/G World Missions to present the most current information about Assemblies of God missionaries around the world.
    • You may update the information in the Community Option as often as you wish to present fresh information about your local church, your community and any missionaries or project not included in the World Missions Touchscreen.
    • The Community Option has the flexibility to hold information about any ministry using text, web pages, any variety of graphics, movies, etc. Your creativity is almost the only limit to customization.
  • Is there any limit to what I can do with the Community Missions Option?
    • Yes, we do request that you leave the content of the startup page intact with respect to the links to the World Missions Touchscreen. Since this is a free program which has been sponsored by the Assemblies of God World Missions, we wish to keep a prominent place for the World Missions Touchscreen.
  • Is the Community Missions Option a ready made program?
    • No, the Community Missions Option (CMO) is a template that will need a good deal of reworking to fit your local congregation. It is highly customizable and flexible but will require some expertise in using Photoshop or another advanced photo editor and perhaps a web editor. All the template pictures are supplied as well as an Excel spreadsheet of all the items in the CMO. Installers for Mozilla and a PhotoShop demo are also provided.
  • How much does the Community Missions Option cost?
    • The CMO requires the purchase of a license for the Kiosk-in-a-Box program from AGWM Communications to run the CMO in a computer with your World Missions Touchscreen. The price is $125 per computer.
    • However the Kiosk-in-a-Box is free for demonstration purposes and development. The CMO was developed in the unlicensed demonstration version, and functions just like the licensed version except it places a quit button on the upper left of the screen and a periodic dialog stating that the copy being used is an unlicensed product.
  • Whom do I call when I have a problem with the Community Missions Option?
    • You will contact us at AGWM Communications to help troubleshoot the problem.
  • Can I obtain the Community Missions Option without the World Missions Touchscreen.
    • No, any one requesting the CMO must be a licensed user of the World Missions Touchscreen. The two programs together form a tightly knit whole that will in most cases fully answer your information display needs.
