Configuring Internet Information Services

  • How do I install Windows IIS?
    • To install IIS open up the control panel and click on Add/Remove Programs
    • Next click on Add/Remove Windows Components
    • This will bring up the menu that allows you to add the Internet Information Service to your computer. Make sure the box is marked with a check and click on Next.
    • Follow the instructions in the installer.
    • You may be asked for your Windows installation CD during installation.

  • To check that your installation has been successful:
    • Please go to the Start Menu. Select Settings. In the sub-menu select Control Panel. Double-click the control panel marked: Administrative Tools.
    • One of the available controls in the Administrative Tools folder will be Internet Information Services.
    • If that does not appear, you need to attempt to install IIS once again. Then check in the control panel for Internet Information Services.

  • First Time installation:
    • If you are installing IIS and the World Missions Touchscreen for the first time, you should now go and install the World Missions Touchscreen using Step 2) of the directions included with your startup package.
    • When you have finished with that installation, Try running the Touchscreen by double clicking the World Missions Touchscreen Icon on the desktop.
    • If the Touchscreen, you do not need to do anything else on this page.
    • Congratulations!

  • I have IIS installed, how do I configure it?
    • Open up the control panel and click on Administrative Tools.
    • Next click on the Internet Information Services (Win XP) or Internet Services Manager (Win 2K.)
    • Now click on the plus next to the computer to open up the menu.
    • Next, click the plus next to the Default Web Site to open up that menu.
    • Once you have opened the Default Web Site menu, right click on the AGFM directory and click on properties.
    • The following shows the settings dialog for Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro.
    • For Windows XP Pro, leave the settings as they appear above and click OK.
    • For Windows 2000 click the create button under Application Settings
      • Make sure the Local Path says either \agfm or C:\Inetput\wwwroot\agfm
      • Adjust the Application Protection to Low (IIS Process)
    • After setting up properties for your respective system,
    • Click OK and your machine should now be properly configured.
